It seems we may have a little media censorship by the government. The government of Botswana would like to stop journalist from having the freedom to speech. By setting up a council to have control over what the media stake holders write on is an attack on the liberty of knowledge to the public. While the bill is up for debate, how do you believe this will affect the development of the media in African society? Is self regulation a better method for controlling what the public should know?

This reminds me about what Dr. Pitts said about journalists having to be licensed to wirte, just as how doctors are licensed to do their jobs. I am worried that violence might break out like in other African countries due to media censroship. Obviously, I am biased towards thinking that freedom of speech is a human right, growing up in a country that is based on the idea that the people should govern themselves.
